Laura | Alta High School Senior

I love taking senior pictures – everyone is so excited and filled with an exciting anxious air of the future.  There’s so much happening – high school is ending and a new step into the future is beginning – and its so much fun to take photos of fun awesome seniors at this point.  I always have a good time and cute Laura was no exception.  She’s an awesome girl graduating from Alta and heading towards life and I loved taking her pictures!      ...

Oxford | Exploring England

The second leg of the journey began with Oxford, England.  The moment our bus rolled into the town of Oxford, I instantly knew that it would be hard to leave this town.  It’s beautiful old architecture was rich with history and from just looking at it, you could feel the stories and distinct English feel oozing from the bricks and into the moist foggy air.  I kept saying to Brikelle, “I don’t think I’m going to want to leave here” and “Yeah, we should have planned much more time here”.  The town was so full of charm and importance and one can only imagine the things that this town has seen.  All of the buildings are so well preserved and that mixed with the brisk fall air and incredible fall leaves made for an incredibly smart match. I’m not sure if I’ll love the doors of Oxford quite as much as any other doors in the country (which is obviously apparent in the amount of door pictures here), but I’ve decided to give my future home a door as quaint as one from Oxford. That is, if I haven’t moved to Oxford by then...

Mills

The season for family pictures is usually fall, but I’m here to say that summer is just as fun! The Mills kids are a hoot – those twin boys kept me on my toes and like my twin brothers, there is always something happening with them. Their sister and I bonded over being the only girls in our families AND having twin brothers. It made for a fun shoot along with some fun pictures! Draper is full of some great spots right now and Utah is blooming with beauty – so if you need some family pictures, let’s talk! We can find some great spots...

Megan – Bridals

This photo shoot was probably one of the best (I know I say that a lot, but hear me out). It seemed doomed from the start – it was during those incredibly rainy and days for Utah in the spring where we couldn’t catch a minute without water, and on top of it, this was the only day that Megan’s gorgeous bouquet would be ready. I was extremely worried we were going to be poured down on from the gray gloomy clouds above while I drove to the Provo Castle, but as soon as Megan arrived, everything worked out perfectly – and with no rain! All of the plants were so lush and green in that gorgeous orchard and the lighting was simply stunning – add in Megan’s beautiful dress and infectious smile, and we were set. I love love love these photos and I hope you do too! Here is to Megan’s wedding (which is happening today) – may it be the most beautiful day!  ...

Flora + Fern | Lifestyle Florals

Here I go again, gushing about Flora + Fern and these floral arrangements. After having spent the weekend in Utah arranging wedding bouquets, Jacelyn decided to slow it down and creates a beautiful table arrangement.  She is such a wonderful florist with so many types of arrangements and flowers and create such unique and stunning pieces with the most beautiful flowers – I mean look at those hydrangeas and ranunculas! I am a sucker for pretty flowers. Give Jacelyn a shout out if you need a wedding florist or flowers for any occasion or give her website a look! http://floraandfern.com/        ...

Ballard | First Anniversary

It’s the one year anniversary for this couple and their wedding is still one of the most beautiful I’ve been to! The season and flowers at temple square for their Salt Lake City temple wedding were so beautiful and a perfect addition to  Summer and Jon’s happy and cheerful new start to their new life together. Summer and Jon are such a great fit for each other – they really bring out the happiness and best in each other and that was one of my favorite things about photographing them – it was so easy to capture such beautiful and earnest photos of them and their love and personalities together. It was so much fun to become friends with them through this happy time in their life.  Congratulations on your first year of marriage, Summer and...

The Bolton’s

It’s all green and gorgeous over here – but really. Spring has sprung and there was no better way to bask in the beauty than with a photoshoot with this beautiful couple in the greenhouse. It was only the perfect spot for photos of this flower loving friend of mine and her husband, especially since it had just been stocked full of new beautiful blooms and buds. I love taking their pictures – they’re so sweet and kind to each other and it makes each photo...
Flora + Fern

Flora + Fern

My dearest friend Jacelyn Bolton, has real talent. I’ve always thought that she has such a good eye for styling and overall direction of creative beauty ventures – want an outfit for the day? She can whip it out. Need help arranging your living and decorating it? She’ll show you exactly what looks good where and even throw in some ideas. Personally, I’ve always thought that she should be and could be a creative director for businesses, photo shoots, or events. So when she told me that she wanted to study floral design and start a business, I knew it was going to be a beautiful thing.  All of her experience and her eye for styling and weddings really sets her up there with floral designs and bouquets. I absolutely loved collaborating with her for a launch photoshoot for her new business, Flora + Fern – trust me people, you’re going to want to see the rest of these beautiful creations and her website, so keep an eye out! For now, here is the lovely Cortney Bramlette modeling a wonderful whimsical...
Pizzeria Amore Photo Series

Pizzeria Amore Photo Series

My dad is a big foodie – he loves all types of food and even more so, he loves cooking all types of food (thank heavens for my mother, who does not like cooking as much).  And when we went to Italy for the first time in 2009, my dad became obsessed with his next food adventure – pizza.  Not just regular pizza thrown in the oven, but real authentic Italian pizza in a real authentic Italian pizza oven.  So for a few years, he saved money to finally buy an authentic pizza oven that came all the way from Italy, and for the last two summers we have been engrossed in the pizza world, inspiring me to feel that the only appropriate way to keep this pizza going is to document the entire process (and use it mercilessly for my senior project). Now Mike doesn’t just make one kind of pizza – he makes them all.  Regular pepperoni, bar-b-que chicken, garlic chicken, margherita, Thai chicken (a crowd favorite), spicy buffalo, pesto, and Mexican taco (my personal favorite).  It’s always a huge ordeal that takes most of the day – heating up the oven to a substantially hot and burning degree, making the homemade dough (thanks to mama!), cooking, cutting, mixing all of the various foods he uses, and finally making the pizzas. And there’s usually way too much pizza, so with either a gaggle of neighbors and friends over or pizzas to deliver around the block, the food is always shared.  It’s become a family event that happens almost weekly, and I’ve decided there’s nothing more fun...
The Bolton’s

The Bolton’s

One year ago, I set out to Oakdale, California for my very best friend’s wedding. Not only was it a glorious day to be a part of and be in, it also jump started my experiences in photographing and filming weddings. It is, what I believe, the reason that I gained wedding recognition and I am ever so grateful to my dear friend and her husband for asking me to start with their wedding. It was a beautiful wedding at the Oakland LDS Temple in Oakland, California, and I loved the beautiful place that it was. We also stopped to do some bridals the day before in the beautiful barely blooming almond tree fields in Oakdale, California. In memory and recognition of that day, I feel its only appropriate to share these pictures (they do hold some of my most favorite pictures ever, after all). Happy one year anniversary Boltons!  ...
2014

2014

*Warning* I may get a little bit sentimental and cheesy in this paragraph, but hey, isn’t that what a look back at the previous year is for? And this last year was definitely one that I can say has boosted me in ways I didn’t think or know was possible.  I’ve been slowly growing in this creative field for about 3 years now and it was always something that was a very personal experience for growth and passion.  I sometimes sit back and look at how that all took off this year and sky rocketed into what I’ve been shooting for for some time now and I cannot be grateful enough.  It is a blessing and if there’s something I do know, its that when we do the things that we have passion for and work hard, the doors open a way for us to keep progressing in that. After 10 weddings, countless engagements, a handful of families, and just about every other type of shoot in between, I am here to tell you that I love what I do and even more, I love who I get to meet when I do it, both client and photographers alike. There are some genuine people out there in this world and working with them and photographing them lets you really see into the genuine goodness of those souls. So, here’s a big fat thank you to all of those I’ve worked with and made this year possible – friends, clients, and photographers alike. And here’s a big look forward into a new year of possibilities.   Some of my favorite...
Hillary – A Soon to Be Baby

Hillary – A Soon to Be Baby

Babies and pregnancy are always such a beautiful thing to me. Its a time for a new fresh beginning and a new little sweet life to come into yours and I love the excitement that expectant mothers have. Hillary is due very soon with their first baby and its going to be a sweet little girl – I am so excited for Hillary and Justin and their new...
The Boltons – A Family

The Boltons – A Family

Isn’t the winter just the loveliest time for pictures of any kind? This fun family had a bit of an adventure with their pictures, seeing it was 20 degrees outside and had just started snowing – the poor California native family was freezing! They were such a fun and positive group and their pictures turned out just...
Jace

Jace

Honest to goodness, I can attribute a lot of my photography to many people in my life, but one of my biggest supporters and kindest friends (not to mention, my best model) has always been this girl. There to bounce ideas off of, give it to me straight, and tell me I’m much better than I think I am, I’ve always been grateful for her help. Hence, why I never get sick of a little photo adventure with her and I always choose to do so.  I’ve been trying my hand at free lensing lately, and these first two photos give just a glimpse of that. That bokeh and that light – these were definitely portraits and this photoshoot were definitely something that was good for the soul.  ...
Brumm Wedding

Brumm Wedding

I was watching 27 Dresses the other day – have you ever seen that movie? It’s about a girl that’s ‘always a bridesmaid, never a bride’ and she absolutely loves weddings – they are her passion.  I think I might feel her on that one. The more I get the opportunity to spend my days photographing weddings, the more I realize just how much I love it! One of my most favorite moments of a wedding at the Salt Lake Temple has to be when the bride and groom walks out of the temple for the first time.  Being a wedding photographer has its sweet moments and that is definitely one of them – to watch this couple come out and be greeted by their sweet family and friends with such happy moments is just a dream. I loved being able to share this day with Taylor and Celeste – they give sweetness and kindness a new definition.  ...
The Williams – A Family

The Williams – A Family

I absolutely loved photographing these lovely ladies! As a girl with all brothers, I’ve always been a tad bit envious of sisters, and this group of ladies were the essence of everything fun about a sisters and mother relationship. Always giggling and always beautiful, these ladies made for a wonderful time and even more wonderful pictures....
Final Portfolio

Final Portfolio

A portfolio is one’s best work.  And sometimes, it can be hard to decide exactly which photographs you think are your own personal best! I’ve been trying to narrow down which pictures are my own best and also my favorites that I would want to put in my portfolio.  I think I’ve narrowed it down to the best photographs that really showcase my style and skill.      ...
The Ellis Family

The Ellis Family

Family pictures are always full of fun energy and happiness and this family was no exception.  I have known the Ellis family since our family moved to Utah 8 years ago – I even used to babysit their kids.  Look how big they are now, and each of them are as beautiful and handsome and fun as the last! The personality of each member and this family was genuine and I loved seeing that in each picture. The Ellis’ are a great family that I was happy to be able to photograph!...
The Peterson’s – A Wedding

The Peterson’s – A Wedding

I think that there isn’t anything cooler than following a couple through their engagement and marriage.  Chelsea and Alex have been such a wonderful couple to become friends with and experience their love and relationship firsthand.  They are fun loving and laid back at the same time and the way they interact with each other is so sweet. You can tell how much they love each other and see their personalities in each picture.  I loved this wedding – here is just a small sample of their...
